NAMAJAPAM IN SABARIMALA  :

Ayyappa sits in yogapattasanam, a high energy pose, where the Prana is steady, mind is focused and enjoys the inner blissful self.

Internally he is awakened consciousness but externally he is in deep meditation.

This state of God realization can be achieved by anyone irrespective of caste, creed, gender or religion.

To get to that level of conscious awareness a steady and dedicated practice is important.

That is where the 41 day penance becomes necessary.

The vrutham includes aharasudhi/ anushtanasuddhi/ and japasudhi.

To focus the mind to this intense devotion chanting, singing bhajans, sarana khosham, nama-smaranam etc. are important.

Hence Namajapam and singing keerthans together are an integral part of the Sabarimala pilgrimage.

When such practices are sabotaged we ruin the purpose of the pilgrimage itself.

Swami Saranam.

Kerala HC slams police for imposing Section 144 at Sabarimala.

Can’t stop pilgrims in groups, chanting Ayyappa songs: Kerala High Court

The prohibitory orders have been in place at Sabarimala and nearby base stations since November 15 to prevent violent protests in a bid to stop women of menstruating age from going to the temple.

The Kerala High Court on Wednesday ruled that Sabarimala pilgrims should not be prevented from moving in groups and chanting Ayyappa keerthanam (devotional songs) on the pretext of maintaining prohibitory orders at the shrine.

Can’t Stop Pilgrims in Groups, Chanting of Ayyappa Songs: Kerala High Court Tells Police.

The authorities had imposed restrictions on movement in an attempt to avoid a repeat of the violent protests in October against the entry of women of all ages in Sabarimala
The division bench issued the interim order on a bunch of petitions moved by various organisations, which had challenged imposition of Section 144 of CrPC at Sabarimala.

The prohibitory orders have been in place at Sabarimala and nearby base stations since November 15 to prevent violent protests in a bid to stop women of menstruating age from going to the temple. In September, the Supreme Court had ordered that all women should be allowed to enter the hill shrine.

In its order on Wednesday, the High Court bench of Justices P R Ramachandra Menon and N Anil Kumar observed that Sabarimala is a place of special pilgrimage where devotees come in groups under the leadership of a guru swami — a senior pilgrim who has visited the shrine on several successive years — and chant Ayyappa keerthanam.

The court said that imposition of Section 144 was meant for smooth movement of pilgrims, and since going to the temple in groups and chanting keerthanam are part of the pilgrimage, the police cannot prevent devotees from doing that. It is up to the police to take action if there are protests, the court held.

The court also asked Advocate General C P Sudakara Prasad why its earlier oral direction on lifting restrictions at Sabarimala were not complied with. The court took serious note of reports that several pilgrims from other states have gone back from the base station on account of the restrictions.

The Kerala high court has ruled that Sabarimala pilgrims should not be prevented from moving in groups and chanting Ayyappa keerthanam (devotional songs) by police due to prohibitory orders at the shrine.

But the court did not order the police to lift Section 144, which has been imposed since November 15 outside the temple, as it considered a batch of petitions challenging the prohibitory orders.

The authorities had imposed restrictions on movement in an attempt to avoid a repeat of the violent protests in October against the entry of women of all ages in Sabarimala.

The court ruled that it was the duty of police to ensure that any insurgents or protesters are not able to reach Sabarimala to spoil a smooth and peaceful pilgrimage for devotees

The HC held that since imposition of Section 144 was meant for smooth movement of pilgrims, and since going to the temple in groups and chanting devotional songs are part of the pilgrimage, the police cannot prevent devotees from doing that. It is up to the police to take action if there are protests, it ruled.

The decision was passed after the state police chief assured the court that prohibitory orders only prevent marches, unlawful assembly and group prayers in the form of protests.

He also said that it is not applicable to the devotees who come to the temple for darshan even in groups and that there is no restriction for chanting Saranam mantras in groups or individually. “It only intends to prohibit protest by way of chatting Saranam mantras by people who assemble with purposeful intention to create a law and order situation in the shrine,” the DGP said.

The high court in its order said it is up to the police to conduct search and analysis, which cannot be prevented. “However, care and caution has to be taken to ensure that, it does not limit in any manner, particularly when the District Magistrate also projects the importance of smooth ‘darshan’ to be provided to genuine pilgrims.”

The court also said prima facie all stake holders, be it the petitioners, the state police or the Devaswom board, all are collectively responsible for the sad state of affairs.

The Nehru-Gandhi dynasty starts with the Mughal man named Ghiyasuddin Ghazi. He was the City Kotwal i.e. police officer of Delhi prior to the uprising of 1857, under the Mughal rule. After capturing Delhi in 1857, in the year of the mutiny, the British were slaughtering all Mughals everywhere. The British made a thorough search and killed every Mughal so that there were no future claimant to the throne of Delhi. The Hindus on the other hand were not targeted by the British unless isolated Hindus were found to be siding with the Mughals, due to past associations. Therefore, it became customary for many Mohammedans to adopt Hindu names. So, the man Ghiyasuddin Ghazi (the word means kafir-killer) adopted- a Hindu name Gangadhar Nehru and thus saved his life by the subterfuge. Ghiyasuddin Ghazi apparently used to reside on the bank of a canal (or Nehr) near the Red Fort. Thus, he adopted the name ‘Nehru’ as the family name. Through out the world, we do not find any descendant other than that of Gangadhar, having the surname Nehru. The 13th volume of the “Encyclopedia of Indian War of Independence” (ISBN:81-261-3745-9) by M.K. Singh states it elaborately. The Government of India have been hiding this fact.
